About Us: Boondocks Meridian
Newly remodeled, Boondocks Fun Center Meridian reopened its doors Friday, March 23, 2007. The new facility includes a 28,000 square foot building that houses a video and redemption arcade and prize center, a laser tag arena, a soft play area for children and a Back Porch Grill Restaurant that serves pizzas, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Boondocks also offer a variety of outdoor attractions that include two elaborate 18-hole miniature golf courses, a bumper boat pond, a 7-stall batting cage, and two go-kart racetracks.
In the winter of 2008 Boondocks Fun Center merged with Roaring Springs Waterpark, located right next door, forming the largest family entertainment complex in the Treasure Valley. A walkway will connect the two parks starting in the summer of 2008. Guests can purchase a Twice the Fun ticket for unlimited full day access to both parks.
Target / Demographic
Boondocks provides a variety of entertainment options that appeal to a wide range of ages and interests. We strive to create an environment that is safe, clean and inviting for all ages. Boondocks Fun Center’s target market primarily consists of families, businesses, schools, and churches. Birthday Parties and Group Events, including company parties, corporate team building events, and school and church outings, represent important business segments for Boondocks.
What is distinctive about Boondocks? At Boondocks we take great pride in the condition and appearance of our facility, the quality of our personnel and the level of service that we provide. “Expect Excellence” has become our motto. We encourage each other to strive for excellence in all that we do. It is our desire to have excellence characterize every aspect of the Boondocks experience. One component of this effort is a regularly scheduled facility inspection. The entire staff participates in preparing their location for a predetermined day and time that the facility will be measured and graded against a standard of excellence. We have found that this effort has encouraged teamwork among our staff and has elevated morale and the general condition of our facilities.
State of Business / Outlook
We have been pleased with what we have seen over the last few years, especially in light of the current business climate. While market conditions have required us to work a little harder to grow our revenue base, we have seen positive trends in attendance and business volumes. We are optimistic about what we think the future holds for those in our industry segment who provide a quality product and the highest levels of service.
Staying Competitive
We continually evaluate our business and look for ways to improve and differentiate us from the competition. Keeping things new and fresh is a large part of this effort. Making the Boondocks experience as friendly, comfortable, and as hassle free as possible is another area of focus. We have recently improved our dining and party areas to make them more efficient and comfortable. Changes have also been made in the way we handle parties that has resulted in a more personalized and interactive experience for guests. We have implemented systems to reduce transaction times at our sales stations and cueing lines. We believe that service and facility upgrades that enhance the guest’s experience are essential to the continued success of the business.
Strategy for Keeping Boondocks Fresh
Each year we update and rotate. We add quality games as they become available and move things around. Part of our investment strategy includes a focus on continual maintenance and improvement. If something breaks or is damaged we fix like new or replace it. We regularly invest in our facilities to keep things looking brand new.
